She had assumed it was merely for Terendelev's amusement, and the healing excuse was pure nonsense. With her strength returning, Camellia began thrusting her hips and lifting Lucrena up and down. Lucrena tried to help find a rhythm, but it was hard on the stone cavern floor. She had shot a load inside Lucrena a short while ago, but the sight of her bouncing up and down on Camellia's hard cock was making the paladin stiff again. Camellia lost her patience with the restrictive position.

She hooked her arms under Lucrena's knees and got to her feet, keeping her cock buried in her ass as she did so. Camellia started pounding into Lucrena hard, but the position was physically difficult. Seelah stood in front of them so Lucrena could wrap her arms around Seelah's neck as she moaned.

Seelah hooked her arms under Lucrena's knees and used her hands to spread the halfling's ass for Camellia. Camellia moved her hands to the little tart's waist and picked up speed. Work that cock! Lucrena's pussy was desperate for attention by now, but she needed both hands to hold onto Seelah while Camellia picked up speed. The angle and depth of her thrusts caused a few drops of her juices to fall to the cave floor. She moved her hips in time with Camellia's thrusts as well as she could despite being suspended in midair.

Anevia was sitting on a rock nearby, taking a much needed opportunity to rest her damaged ankle. She was utterly transfixed by the sight of these powerful women having their way with Lucrena. She decided not to participate further, and resisted the powerful urge to pleasure herself. She couldn't stop staring though. Camellia was the first to be overtaken. The slickness and warmth inside Lucrena coupled with her moans and movements was building up an explosive climax.

When Camellia couldn't hold it in anymore, she released her first spurt with a feminine gasp, and suddenly slapped Lucrena's ass hard and dug in with her sharp nails. Dark magic prevented her from doing any harm though. Lucrena let out a surprised squeak, but felt no pain. The feeling of Camellia's semen being pumped into the cocktail with Seelah and Terendelev's sent another orgasm crashing through her. Camellia's graceful thrusts became powerful spasms as she shot each strand of cum.

Her testicles contracted and twitched. Seelah held her tight and whispered encouragement in her ear as she came. It was deeply satisfying, but Lucrena had to admit that she had come harder when Seelah had raped her.

Camellia gradually slowed to a stop, breathing heavily. Lucrena felt her start to soften inside her, and after a few moments she withdrew. Camellia waited patiently for Lucrena's anus to close before fully releasing her cock with a plop.

Despite this, some large globs of semen did squirt onto the floor. Seelah gently placed Lucrena back on her feet, and her and Camellia both got dressed. Lucrena rubbed her abdomen.

For some reason it pleased her to have so many loads mixed together inside her that she could carry with her. Sadly, it felt as though the healing power of Terendelev's had completely dissipated. The mixture must have become too dilute. The false life spell was gone too.

I can feel it," She informed the party. Further down the passage, Seelah saw that the natural cave formation became some sort of underground ruins. She heard voices echoing softly in the distance. The group stepped into the ruins and saw a man rummaging through the rubble. As they got closer, they realized he was definitely not human. Half of his face and upper body looked like a lizardfolk, and the other half looked human except for a large goat horn protruding from his forehead.

He was divided right down the middle. Wenduag looked even more beastlike than Lann. She had cat's eyes, sharp teeth and nails, dark blue skin, and eight spider legs extended from her back. She moved with the lethal grace of a wild predator. Our forebears were crusaders twisted by the corruption of the Abyss.

These ruins were built to honor them. They'll get themselves killed if we don't help them, but our Chief Sull won't act. I'm hoping the sword will change his mind. Do you think you're special, Lann? You're still here, Wendu.

Deep down, you know it's possible," Lann shrugged. So-called because it shields us from rash decisions. I'm the only member of our tribe that has been inside it, and the further I went, the fresher the air became. That means it leads to the surface," Wenduag boasted.

We buried them with their weapons, but the angel's sword was stuck in a rock and no one could pull it out. It burned to the touch, like fire. So, we placed the rock over the angel's grave. It's here somewhere," Wenduag recited. The party spread into the chamber, looking for anything that resembled a flaming angelic sword. Lucrena pocketed a dusty copper ring. Camellia observed a large statue that was still mostly intact. It was a knight wearing the armor of the first crusaders. As unlikely as their story was, the mongrels weren't lying about that.

Camellia looked at their corrupted bodies with interest. Anevia found some valuable stones in the rubble, but no sword. Finally, Lucrena saw something glowing in a pile of rocks.

As she approached, she was suddenly blinded by a flash of light. The wound on her chest that Terendelev had healed reopened, and began to bleed. A scene appeared before her of a cave, and she began having thoughts and feelings that were not her own, but that of an angel warrior from the past.

There was a woman bleeding to death nearby on the ground. The angel considered whether to call out to the traitors or attempt to heal the dying girl. Lucrena sensed that she could direct this vision somewhat, and suggested the angel to call out to the traitors.

Murky figures materialized in the haze, and mocked the angel. Deskari has given us everything! A massive creature came forth from the darkness, his wings a chirping and seething mass of locusts. The traitorous mortals knelt before him. Lucrena's chest wound burned suddenly with searing pain, and at first she couldn't tell if it was her pain or Lariel's.

Through force of will, she shook the phantom pain off, but she knew Lariel was not so lucky. Deskari gripped his throat in one hand and lifted him into the air. Lariel flamed a sword to life in his hand and slashed Deskari's flesh, startling the demon lord into releasing his grip. He tumbled to the ground and plunged his sword into a stone.

In his final moments, he cried out. Lucrena shrieked as the vision ended violently. She panted heavily and clutched her chest, before muttering "- to punish evildoers and traitors. The pain dissipated, and in her hand she saw the glowing outline of the angel's sword.

It let out a surge of heavenly light, before disappearing too. But, Lucrena could tell that it would return if she called it. The traitors, the dying girl, the? And when I'm upset. And when I'm happy.

Anyway, if you show that light to Chief Sull, I'm sure we can convince him to rally the tribes and save our kin! Lucrena tried to reach out to the sword, and sure enough, it appeared in her hand once more and emitted a soothing glow. They climbed over a large pile of rubble, and set off down a nearby passage.

They fought their way past massive spiders, bigger than Lucrena had ever seen. Then they stumbled upon three small earth elementals, and the fight was long and hard. Like Anevia, Lann and Wenduag were both archers. Lann liked to fire quickly, while Wenduag was more accurate, but they were both skilled. The elementals were sturdy and strong, and they gave Seelah's shield and armor a beating. Lucrena couldn't find any way to hurt them at all, no matter what angle she tried.

They battered Camellia and Seelah to the ground, and all turned their attention to Lucrena. She gave up even trying to harm them and instead focused all her effort on nimbly dodging their strikes. She juked, flipped and rolled to and fro and they couldn't land a single attack. The archers finally managed to land some solid shots and the elementals crumbled into dust.

Camellia and Seelah were badly hurt, but Lucrena couldn't believe their luck when they found a healing wand on the dead body the elementals were guarding. She grabbed it and ran over to the groaning paladin. By Calistria, if anyone's going to kill you it should be me! Somehow, it was hard to tell if she was upset or excited by this.

As Lucrena rushed over to heal her, she noticed the noblewoman was semi-erect again. The halfling chalked it up to shock or delirium and tried to focus on getting her healed but the wand wouldn't cooperate. Seelah healed Camellia effortlessly, and they continued their journey. They found a good combat rhythm, and each member of the group contributed what they could.

Their spirits were high, as if blessed by a heroism spell. I don't know who you are or where you came from but you're obviously a sneak thief. People like you and I are the only ones who see things clearly; in this world, sometimes you have to do ugly things if you want to survive," She hissed quietly. Lucrena turned to face her without responding. Wenduag breathed a sigh of relief. Let's keep moving," Lucrena said furtively.

She rather enjoyed being The Chosen One. For once in her life, she felt like she mattered. See the end of the chapter for notes.

The trip to the mongrel village took hours, but they were spared having to deal with any more monstrous insects. When they finally arrived, Lucrena was tired but Lann insisted they meet with this Chief Sull. So, they trudged to his tent. The village was full of ugly tents made of insect bits and other unpleasant materials.

The smell was foul and the mongrels cooked white, eyeless fish they caught in murky underground lakes. Even the Kenabres slums Lucrena grew up in were nicer than this place. We found the Light of Heaven, and the one who can wield it! Rally the tribes, please. If we go now, we can save the young ones! Uplandersh never help our people out of the goodnesh of their heartsh, but Lann likesh to believe. Let'sh shee thish light then, shtranger," Sull gestured vaguely.

Wenduag stared at Lucrena, shaking her head slightly. The rest of the party looked at her expectantly. Lann turned quickly to look at Lucrena, shocked and hurt by the lie. Why would you lie about this? We all saw it! We mongrelsh, we wait. Not for miraclesh, but for the right moment.

Thish ish not it. Uplandersh, you may resht in our village, but then you musht be on your way," Sull stated before waddling back into his tent. Wenduag put one hand on Lucrena's shoulder and used the other to gently move a strand of the halfling's hair back into place as she spoke.

Lucrena was startled by this sudden display of affection, and idly wondered what was between Wenduag's legs. She wasn't sure she really wanted to know.

Wenduag wasn't wearing tight silk pants like Camellia. Her outfit revealed nothing. As they left the chief's tent, they were surprised to be approached by an aging overweight human nobleman. I was beginning to lose hope! I have a business proposition for you," he said hurriedly.

I could use you. My offer is simple: a thousand gold coins for safe passage to the surface. She relished the opportunity to squeeze this puffed up noble for every penny she could. Wenduag escorted the party to a tent they could use for the night. Anevia seemed to recognize Horgus. She sat with him and chatted with him about the events of the day. Seelah found a trader named Dyra and exchanged what scraps they had scavenged for more supplies.

Camellia strolled idly through the village, gathering reagents here and there, and looking at the various mongrels with disdain. Lann had simply disappeared. Lucrena entered the dumpy tent and sighed. It was dirty and disheveled but she was grateful for a place to rest. She lay on a dusty bedroll and massaged her bare feet. Wenduag stared at her silently.

She had a curious, almost predatory look on her face. Lucrena was too tired to make anything of it, and within minutes she had drifted off to sleep. Lucrena sat up in the tent and rubbed her eyes. Her companions were all crammed together on other bedrolls, and Wenduag was standing over her.

Lucrena noticed she was wearing a tighter shirt today. Her breasts were impressively large, she thought to herself. Wenduag eyed Lucrena with a strange expression. The other members of the party started to wake up. Wenduag mumbled something inaudible, then added "You are short, like a child. But you survived the demons, and the caves.

It takes a warrior to do that," she said evenly. Come on," Wenduag replied. You could have chosen not to listen to me, but you did.

That means you have real strength in you. Thank you. You saved the tribe from a stupid mistake. When Seelah and Camellia were ready, the party followed Wenduag to a raft floating in the underground lake by the village. Anevia stayed behind with Horgus to allow her ankle time to heal. Wenduag navigated the raft through dark caverns and the adventurers steeled themselves for the dangers of the Shield Maze.

When they arrived at the opposite shore, it was only a short walk before they came upon it. The entrance was constructed of large stone bricks, and a religious insignia decorated either side of the door. Wenduag indicated a crack in the damaged door they could squeeze through to enter, so one by one they slipped inside. It's a temple of Baphomet," she gestured idly to the religious iconography decorating the stone walls. The temple was well-lit by torches and chandeliers.

They crossed the room and passed through the door on the other side. It opened up into a large chamber, which looked damage by the recent cave-ins. A man in the room heard the sound of the door opening and turned to face the party. Three other men behind him turned as well. Two began casting spells, while the other drew a crossbow and fired it at Seelah. Seelah didn't hesitate for a moment. She charged the attacker and struck him down with two deliberate strikes. Camellia navigated toward the spellcasters and pierced one of their throats with her rapier, but not before they both fired magic missiles at Seelah.

They impacted her hard, and she let out a pained grunt but didn't fall. Lucrena was so startled by the sudden violence that she hesitated for several seconds before snapping out of it and rushing to help Camellia. She hamstrung the crossbowman with her knife and Camellia pierced his chest with precision. Wenduag shot the final attacker with her bow. Lucrena's face and hands were sprayed with the blood of her victim.

She looked at her knife with disbelief. I've just never killed anyone before," she muttered. She looked at the dead man's face for a moment. They serve Baphomet," Seelah replied. They may even be the reason they were able to breach the city's defenses," she said angrily. They proceeded cautiously through the temple. Wenduag had a good eye for traps, and Camellia was shockingly skilled at disabling them.

Lucrena knew her way around a lockpick too, but Camellia actually seemed to admire these deadly devices for their craftsmanship. Working with them seemed like second nature to her. As her thoughts wandered briefly to the hard fucking Camellia had given her yesterday, she was snapped out of it when they entered a library of some kind, startling the lone cultist within. Seelah rushed him immediately with Camellia not far behind. Lucrena didn't even get a chance to act before they cut him down.

They scavenged some scrolls from the shelves and pressed on. Fortunately, sound didn't carry well through the musty temple and the cultists were obviously not expecting an attack. They frequently encountered small groups or lone cultists, and they dispatched them with ease before moving to the next room. They found a good battle rhythm and expended minimal healing supplies as needed. They found a small armory, and after killing the lone cultist inside Wenduag saw a sickle on a weapon rack.

She picked it up enthusiastically. Wenduag ignored the insult, and put away her bow. She gave the sickle a few swings and decided to keep it. She grabbed a warhammer in her other hand. When they moved into the next chamber, Lucrena was surprised to see three mongrels, standing in some sort of ritual circle.

Are we glad to see you! Lann is worried sick about you! They turned toward the party but didn't reply as Seelah had hoped. Instead, they let out feral shrieks and charged toward the party with clear violent intent. We're here to help you! When they began viciously clawing and biting, the party had no choice but to defend themselves. Wenduag bashed the last one in the head with her hammer and stood over their bloodied corpses. Perhaps this place drove them mad. If they weren't insane to begin with, that is.

They go missing, then reappear They don't recognize anyone, and trying to reason with them is a waste of time. It's best to just end their suffering. Serves them right," she concluded derisively. Lucrena hated the way Wenduag talked about weakness.

Like most halflings, she was small and weak herself, and resented being looked down upon for it. Lucrena looked around the room and noticed four paintings of noblewomen on the wall. She normally wouldn't have given them a second glance, but two of the paintings were identical.

A portrait of a woman in a fancy yellow dress hung on either side of the other two paintings. Strange to hang two of the same painting on the same wall, she thought to herself.

Cultists made for poor decorators. They descended some stairs into a flooded chamber. They cleared room after room of feral mongrels. Lucrena couldn't help but pity them. Their brute strength was fearsome, but they were dumb and susceptible to the party's developing tactics. They possessed at least enough intelligence to hurl darts, their peculiar ranged weapon of choice. They mostly just plinked harmlessly against Seelah's heavy shield. After hours of fighting and exploring, they found only dead ends.

One room contained a large water elemental, likely attracted by the flooding. It looked far too dangerous to face, so they quietly closed the door and backed out of the chamber. Another corridor had an important-looking cultist with two followers. Once defeated, Lucrena fished a note out of his pocket that revealed an entire new section of the temple was hidden by a secret entrance.

She groaned in frustration. Camellia fumbled with the lock a few times then shook her head. It had been a long trek to the temple, and by now they'd been stuck inside all day.

They were hungry, tired, and physically spent. Lucrena couldn't believe the size of this underground complex. It was full of storage rooms, armories, libraries, barracks, and more. This cult had been busy. The others agreed. They cleared the room of corpses, barricaded the entrance, and prepared the meagre meal they had brought with them from the village.

Seelah tried to keep spirits high with jokes and banter. Her wit was no match for Camellia's. Camellia performed a ritual of sorts, explaining that it was how she prepared her magical spells for the day. Even Wenduag made light conversation, once she was certain they would not be disturbed.

Lucrena dared to hope this experience would forge friendships that would endure beyond their escape from the underground. They found the driest spot they could, and tried to get a few hours' sleep. Lucrena awoke to Wenduag quietly shaking her. Intrigued, Lucrena silently rose to follow Wenduag to the locked door Camellia had been unable to open. With a flirtatious wink, Wenduag produced a small key and used it to open the door.

She gestured inside. Not sure what to expect, Lucrena walked into another small storage room. She looked through the crates and found various supplies, and there was a magical suit of scale mail that might come in handy. Lucrena didn't wear armor, but Seelah did.

Wait, did you have that key the whole She had quietly slipped into the room and locked the door behind her. Because I like what I see, smallfolk. And when people like us see something we like, we take it," she said with a predatory grin.

What Lucrena saw was strange. It was blue like the rest of her, but knobbly and slightly misshapen. It was just under six inches, but the irregular shape and texture made it even thicker than Seelah's in some places. Her testicles were big, lumpy and asymmetrical as well.

Lucrena was only slightly attracted to Wenduag. Mostly she was just afraid of her. Her mind raced, trying to think of a way out of this situation. The room was tiny with nowhere to run, and Wenduag had the key. She decided to go with diplomacy.

I like you," she began. Wenduag was seductively removing her shirt. Lucrena swallowed. Lucrena's heart started racing. She wasn't sure what Wenduag was going to do if she refused to submit. She instinctively dodged out of the way, and darted behind her but there was just nowhere to go.

She pounded weakly on the door two times and yelled "HELmphph!! Outside the door, Camellia opened her eyes. She glanced over at Seelah, who was still sound asleep. Looking around curiously, she quietly got up and walked toward the locked door. She thought she heard voices on the other side, so without making a sound she peered through the keyhole. She saw Wenduag angrily thrusting her cock into Lucrena's mouth, with a fistful of her hair in one hand.

Camellia's eyes went wide, and her cock twitched. She reached into her pants to release it, and began stroking it eagerly. Lucrena nodded helplessly as Wenduag forced herself down her throat. She felt like an idiot for ever trusting her. When Wenduag was satisfied that she wouldn't try to escape, she withdrew from Lucrena's mouth and threw her on the ground.

Anytime someone seems nice, it's always a trick," Lucrena whined. Wenduag rolled her eyes and flipped Lucrena onto her hands and knees easily. She was strong. She yanked Lucrena's pants and panties down around her ankles and knelt behind her. She stroked herself vigorously. Unlike Lucrena's other partners, Wenduag showed no patience or restraint.

She hadn't the slightest care for her partner's comfort or feeling, and rammed herself into Lucrena's ass viciously. Her shape and thickness made it difficult, so it took several thrusts to get it in all the way.

Lucrena had tears streaming down her face, and it took everything she had not to scream out in pain at the hard ass fucking she was receiving. She gritted her teeth and grunted, hoping it wouldn't be loud enough to earn Wenduag's wrath.

Camellia was grateful that Wenduag happened to be facing toward where she was sitting. She could see Lucrena's tears, Wenduag's triumphant grin, and her breasts bouncing with every thrust into Lucrena's ass.

She slowed her stroking slightly so as not to cum too soon. She tried to suppress her own moans of excitement. Wenduag grabbed Lucrena's hair again and lifted her head so she could lean forward and whisper in her ear as she fucked her.

You brought this on yourself! Lucrena's whimpering and gasping was getting less frantic. Her ass had finally adjusted somewhat to Wenduag's girth, so she tried to control her breathing. It was starting to feel slightly pleasurable, but Lucrena was determined not to orgasm. She desperately wanted control over that, if nothing else.

As if sensing this, Wenduag slid her other hand down Lucrena's abdomen toward her pussy. Lucrena started crying again. Of all the sexual encounters she'd had in the last two days, why did this have to be the only one where her partner actually tried to pleasure her? The one time she wished for no pleasure at all, she was being brought to a humiliating orgasm against her will. Wenduag could tell that what she was doing was working.

You have no choice but to take my cock, and no choice but to enjoy it! Do it! Cum you little fucking slut! Lucrena couldn't stop it. Wenduag's fingers were too skilled. The sensations from her clit and ass were too intense. The emotions she was feeling were too overwhelming. It was all just too much, and her body began to violently shake with an orgasm she didn't want. It built slowly, and she tried to push it away, but as Wenduag called her a 'slut' it ripped through her body like a hurricane.

It was as violent and savage as her rapist, and she couldn't stop herself from screaming. Her cries sent Wenduag and Camellia over the edge. Wenduag gripped Lucrena's hips tightly and plunged her cock deep, shooting thick slime all over Lucrena's walls.

Wenduag's orgasms were unusually long, and her loads were big like her oversized testicles. She withdrew before she was fully unloaded, so she could coat her victim's anus with cream.

She admired her handiwork with a satisfied smile. Camellia gripped her mouth and nose like a vice so she wouldn't make any noise, and shot thick gooey ropes of semen all over the floor. She shuddered and twitched involuntarily as a powerful orgasm wracked her body. She waited until she had squeezed out every last drop, then realized she was suffocating.

She removed her hand from her face and gasped for air, shocked by the intensity of the climax she'd experienced from masturbation alone. She noticed Seelah beginning to stir and hastily placed her cock back in her pants, then used a simple spell to clean up the mess.

She stepped over Lucrena and opened the door with her key. I heard - oh. Then she spotted Wenduag's subsiding erection still slick with cum, and finally she saw Lucrena laying on the floor with her ass exposed. It happened. Let's just move on. I hate this stupid place. Wenduag looked at Seelah with newfound respect as she got dressed. She hadn't realized this supposed paladin was also a rapist.

She wondered if Seelah's cum had still been inside Lucrena as she was raping her. Lucrena rubbed her eyes and gathered her gear. The rest of the party packed up, unbarricaded the door, and ventured back out into the temple.

They backtracked out of the flooded rooms to the main hall, past a barracks into a ritual chamber with some sort of blood fountain set into the wall. Camellia pulled a lever disguised as a torch sconce and a hidden passage opened before the party. They descended into a dark, unfinished section of the temple. If you're enjoying the story and want to show your support, or if you hate the story and want to flame me, please leave a comment!

I'd love to know what you think! They proceeded through a dark hallway into a room that was half stone construction, half natural cavern. There were three cultists standing over the bodies of two miners. Truthfully, Lucrena and Camellia were not the best warriors, and the cultists likely could have handled them. But they were no match for Seelah and Wenduag.

Seelah's heavy armor and combat training made the average cultist look like a child with a toy sword. She struck enemies without any hesitation, powered by the strength of her convictions and the desire to protect her friends.

Wenduag liked fighting for the sake of fighting. To her, everything was about power. Sex and combat were the most satisfying ways for her to prove her strength. She couldn't decide which she enjoyed more. Lucrena felt sick to her stomach when she drove her dagger into the last cultist's neck. Growing up, she had always survived by stealing. If she got in trouble, she would always run away, but she learned the basics of how to knife fight just in case.

She was too weak to face anyone head on in a street brawl, but she understood that one could deal devastating damage to an unsuspecting target. Still, she had never killed for coin. Before yesterday, she had never killed at all. She picked pockets, and prostituted herself a handful of times when she was really desperate, but she wasn't a murderer. The healing wand fizzled out a few rooms ago, and we're almost out of potions.

I'm not comfortable advancing without healing," she argued. Seelah knelt in the doorway with her shield raised. Lucrena and Camellia got out crossbows they had looted off dead cultists, and Wenduag equipped her bow.

They fired bolts and arrows at the lizards while Seelah held the line. When the lizards charged, it was especially hard for Lucrena to get a clear shot. Their attacks were vicious, but their teeth could not penetrate Seelah's skin through her banded mail. She was battered and bruised, but not poisoned. Wenduag dropped the final lizard with a clean shot to the thorax. She slipped it on one of her elegant fingers. Seelah sheathed her sword and raised her fists with a curious grin.

She tried to punch Camellia's shoulder, and sure enough she felt a magical force slightly deflecting her hand. There were four strange cultists in the next room. They had red skin and large horns. One slowly drew a curved sword. The others readied bows. Seelah advanced slowly, shield raised. Wenduag charged at the archers with her mace and sickle.

An arrow struck her shoulder as she approached, and she shrieked angrily as she cut them down. Lucrena was secretly pleased to see Wenduag get a dose of pain, but she rushed to help her anyway. She rolled between the last cultist's legs and sliced his ankles. His final cry was silenced by Wenduag's sickle piercing his throat. Camellia and Seelah finished off the swordsman.

I need a healing potion. Seelah handed the last of their healing potions to Wenduag. She downed them all, but her wound wouldn't fully close. Seelah placed her hand on Wenduag's shoulder, but nothing seemed to happen. Seelah furrowed her brow. I'll just bandage it. I can still fight. Seelah removed her hand and looked at it sadly. Lucrena could tell she was devastated by whatever was happening. Iomedae has forsaken me," Seelah said, tears welling in her eyes. She quickly wiped them away. Lucrena was stunned to see such a display of emotion from this stalwart paladin.

She had no idea why this was such a big deal, but it clearly bothered Seelah, so she took her hand and gave it a sympathetic squeeze. But we have got to get out of this place," Lucrena implored her. Seelah looked into Lucrena's eyes with deep regret. Let's move. Lucrena just wanted to escape, but Seelah suggested scrounging everything they could find before they took on whatever was behind that door, so Lucrena agreed and down they went.

There were three more cambions in the basement. Seelah tore into them. Her demeanor had changed. Her strikes were angry, but her eyes were sad. Her fiery conviction had been replaced with a sorrowful sort of resolve. Fortunately, her fighting skill was still intact.

Lucrena stepped over the three cambions' corpses to inspect a curious set of four large gems set into the wall of the dark basement. Each glowed pleasantly with a different color: red, blue, green, and yellow. Rich people loved hoarding their junk in combination locked safe rooms, and it was a bit of a fad among nobles to use a fancy magic puzzle lock instead of a mundane one. Lucrena grinned. Finally, something she was good at! She took a breath and thought hard. She knew these cultists were far too stupid to use a long combination, or to bother with memorizing it.

It would be written down, somewhere. She touched some of the gems just to see what would happen, and sure enough they lit up as she touched them, then faded if she did it in the wrong order.

Then she remembered the four paintings she had seen in the chamber with the mad mongrels. She touched the gems again. Yellow, blue, red, yellow. A part of a nearby stone wall moved into the floor, revealing a hidden room.

Seelah stepped into the room, where she saw a sword laying on a stone altar. As she got closer, she gasped. She looked at the demonic altar it had been placed on. I don't know how to restore its power," she said. She was fearless, an unmatched warrior, and above all No matter what. Her commanders didn't always agree with her, but in my eyes she was perfect.

She's my hero. There are statues of her all over Kenabres, you must have seen them. Seelah chuckled as she tossed her old sword aside. Maybe it can be repaired? Come on Radiance.

Time for a new adventure! They looted the cleared rooms and decided what to do next. They could either unlock the door to the surface or try defeating the large water elemental in the flooded rooms. It looked scary, but they had found enough potions and scrolls to give them a fighting chance, and Lucrena knew by now the value of fully exploring every nook and cranny for magical trinkets and supplies.

Plus, she loved the simple thrill of finding valuable treasure. She was a thief after all. Outside the elemental's chamber, they prepared meticulously. Seelah quickly downed potions of barkskin, shield of faith, resist cold, and reduce person.

Her skin turned hard like a tree, she had a faint blue glow around her, and she shrunk down to the same size as Lucrena. Lucrena found it hilarious. Camellia and Wenduag drank potions of enlarge person instead, and Camellia read scrolls of bless and bull's strength.

They grew as tall as giants, and their muscles bulged. Lucrena's eyes went wide, then straight to Camellia's groin. To Lucrena's mild disappointment, she was not currently erect.

Then she shook the thought from her head. Don't be ridiculous, she thought. That would never fit! Don't try to knife it, elementals don't have weak spots. Let the tallfolk resolve this one with brute strength, okay? Lucrena nodded. They all took a deep breath, then ran into the room. Seelah managed to get the elemental's attention and draw its attacks. Her armor, small size, and other protection spells made it extremely difficult for the elemental to land any serious blows.

Wenduag and Camellia hacked and stabbed it from behind Seelah, taking advantage of their height and long arms to strike above Seelah's head. Lucrena did as instructed and downed the potion of haste. The whole party was imbued with supernatural speed. She wasn't sure what else to do, so she tried calling the Light of Heaven. Sure enough, the sword appeared briefly and emitted a bright flash that seemed to bolster her allies and dazzle the elemental.

Their plan was working, but Seelah wasn't invincible. The elemental managed to land one solid blow, and Seelah cried out in agony. She fought through the pain, and after a several more strikes from her friends, the elemental finally burst into harmless water droplets that rained to the floor.

Seelah clutched her abdomen and collapsed to the floor as her potions wore off and she returned to her normal size. Lucrena quickly examined the wound and started panicking. We have no more healing potions! Lucrena got up and desperately searched the room for treasure. She popped open a promising crate tucked into a corner, and breathed a sigh of relief. Five oversized healing potions greeted her from within.

Seelah downed two of the potions gratefully, and got to her feet. They found some other valuables and a magic ring they couldn't identify, then made their way toward the locked exit. In order to reach it, they had to enter another large ritual chamber. A summoning circle at least twenty feet in diameter was surrounded by four stone columns in the center of the room. There were three short, fat, ugly creatures milling around the room. They started chittering loudly and attacked.

One of them immediately emitted a disgusting gas that engulfed the party. LibriVox volunteers are helpful and friendly, and if you post a question anywhere on the forum you are likely to get an answer from someone, somewhere within an hour or so. So don't be shy! Many of our volunteers have never recorded anything before LibriVox.

The roles involved in making a LibriVox recording. Not all volunteers read for LibriVox. If you would prefer not to lend your voice to LibriVox , you could lend us your ears.

Proof listeners catch mistakes we may have missed during the initial recording and editing process. Readers record themselves reading a section of a book, edit the recording, and upload it to the LibriVox Management Tool. For an outline of the Librivox audiobook production process, please see The LibriVox recording process.

We require new readers to submit a sample recording so that we can make sure that your set up works and that you understand how to export files meeting our technical standards. We do not want you to waste previous hours reading whole chapters only to discover that your recording is unusable due to a preventable technical glitch.

A book coordinator commonly abbreviated BC in the forum is a volunteer who manages all the other volunteers who will record chapters for a LibriVox recording.
